For Burkina

Hope Village is a collective impact project coordinated through the Amoveo Group, in which many organizations have come together to help improve the health, education, agriculture, economy and governance of six villages throughout Burkina Faso, Africa by 2018.

Formm is contributing to this initiative through the design of twelve classrooms, six for each of the six villages. Each school building contains three indoor classrooms and one outdoor gathering space, each sited on either side of the central rain garden. The school building roofs will drain into the rain garden, which will serve as a cooling mechanism for the buildings, and also as a center for agricultural education. The large roofs and overhangs help to protect the building from the sun. The walls are comprised of locally sourced BTC bricks, which are offset on the east and west ends of the building for ventilation.
